Founded in 1965 by visionary entrepreneurs Mr. R.K. Shah, Mr. V.D. Mehta, Mr. R.C. Shah, and Mr. Narayan Patil, Organic Coatings Ltd. began its journey with a clear mission—to deliver high-quality printing inks and UV coatings to the Indian market. From these entrepreneurial beginnings,the company evolved into a public limited entity in 1995, marking a new chapter in its growth story. A strong focus on quality and innovation led Organic Coatings to become the first Indian ink manufacturing company to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification. The company has been granted three Indian patents for its groundbreaking work in UV inks, varnishes, and water-based varnishes—demonstrating its commitment to pioneering technologies in the industry.
We are also proud to be the first Indian ink company to develop an innovative pigment-base milling technique. Our state-of-the-art R&D center is officially recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India—further affirming our dedication to research-driven excellence.
